Red Line Transportation Engineer, Various Positions (Full-time, hybrid schedule)​

Hunt Valley, MD, and Baltimore, MD

Rossi Group has multiple openings for Transportation Engineers to support the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) with the Red Line project design efforts. The positions range from entry-level to mid-level civil engineers (2-15 years of experience) with experience in highway, water resources, or transit design. The positions support the Red Line project on a full-time basis, or a part-time basis supporting our other design projects. This is a hybrid position, reporting to our Hunt Valley, MD office or our consultant partner’s office in Baltimore, MD.

Position Responsibilities: 

• Conduct preliminary and final engineering design

• Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings, plans, and visual aids

• Conduct office research, fieldwork, data collection, and data analysis

• Prepare technical reports and memos

• Develop construction cost estimates

• Coordinate with other team members and design disciplines

 

Anticipated Wage and Benefits:
Rossi Group provides full benefits including matching 401k and profit sharing. These positions offer an anticipated salary range of $70k-$140k depending on experience, certifications, and abilities.

 

​Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program with an emphasis in transportation, highway engineering, or related discipline

• EIT certification or PE license

• Proficiency in using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer and similar software

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Experience in applying standard engineering techniques and analyses in civil engineering

• Ability to work well in a team environment

• Analytical thinking/problem-solving

• Self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, and demonstrate effective time management skills

• Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 

• Work is generally performed in an indoor office setting

• Working from a job site office or on-site at a client office may be necessary

• Fieldwork would include physical visual inspection of project sites; walking project sites and/or driving project sites; working outdoors, walking on uneven ground of construction sites; lifting objects of 20 pounds

• Occasional project-dependent evening and weekend meetings
