Transportation Project Manager (TPM) – Maryland or Delaware, flexible WFH schedule

Rossi Group is looking for a strong leader to manage the delivery of transportation projects, foster internal and external client relationships, and assist in developing client growth opportunities.

The TPM will be responsible for managing project teams of transportation engineers and planners and will directly coordinate technical disciplines, oversee production, and perform thorough quality control reviews. A comprehensive understanding of transportation engineering and planning principles is required. The TPM will mentor junior technical staff and guide their professional development.

The TPM will be responsible for task proposal development, staff assignment and executing the task on time and within budget. The TPM will assist in the solidifying and growth of client relationships. The TPM will report directly to our company officers. This position is a hybrid flexible position with work-from-home days possible.

This position is essential to the long-term success and continued growth of Rossi Group. The TPM will be able to execute our clients’ visions and continue our client-based technical focus in the transportation industry. Projects include the planning and design of highway, pedestrian/bicycle facilities, complete streets and streetscape projects including the related water resources and traffic engineering project activities in Maryland and Delaware.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead technical work performed by project teams of transportation engineers and planners

  • Mentor junior staff

  • Manage production efficiency and execute quality control procedures

  • Participate in public meetings for projects

  • Deliver high-quality technical consultant services within established schedules and budgets

  • Create and update project tasks, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource plan

  • Frequent client contacts to ensure repeat client business and deliver growth

  • Advocate for new projects and develop enhanced client relationships

  • Assist in development of long-term strategic plan and goals

  • Support or lead proposal and pursuit efforts

  • Produce/review accurate and timely invoices

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, urban planning, or transportation planning

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience including 2 years of team management

  • Thorough understanding and experience of MDOT and DelDOT procedures, specifications, and workflow

  • Polished and effective written and oral communication skills

  • Track record of professional achievement

  • Ability to travel to client sites with same-day notice within Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, and Pennsylvania
