Civil Engineer / Transportation Engineer - Dover, DE (Hybrid)
Rossi Group is seeking a motivated and highly talented Civil Engineer / Transportation Engineer for our growing Dover, DE office. This is a hybrid position with flexible hours and the ability to work from home and from our Dover office on in-office days.
The ideal candidate has experience in one or more of the following areas: transportation and roadway improvements, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, ADA improvements, site improvements, stormwater management, or traffic studies. The successful candidate is comfortable learning and performing multiple civil disciplines including traffic engineering, water resources, and highway design. The candidate will work independently on smaller projects or portions of larger projects.
Position Responsibilities

Conduct multi-modal studies including pedestrian and bicycle planning, analysis, and design

Conduct preliminary and final engineering design for preparation of plans, estimates, and specifications in compliance with DelDOT’s guidelines and standards for advertisement and construction

Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings plans and visual aids

Conduct traffic impact studies, impact analysis and cost-benefit analysis

Conduct office research, fieldwork, data collection, and data analysis

Prepare technical reports and PowerPoint presentations

Managing scope and schedules

Coordinate with other team members and clients
Required Skills & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited engineering program with an emphasis in transportation engineering or related discipline

EIT or FE certificate with the ability/expectation to obtain PE license within a one-year timeframe

Proficiency in using MicroStation or AutoCAD

Proficiency in using MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Experience in applying standard engineering techniques and analyses in civil engineering

Ability to work well in a team environment

Analytical thinking/problem solving

Strong verbal communication skills

Strong written communication skills and the ability to write concise technical reports and documents

Self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, and demonstrate effective time management skills
Preferred Skills & Experience

3-8 years of experience
-
Experience with DelDOT project development procedures, policies, and publications

GIS software experience
